My research investigates the development of social cognition with an emphasis on how children categorize others into social groups, and how these categories then guide further inferences and behaviour, with a particular focus on studying children in contexts of intergroup conflict.

Research Interests

Open to PhD applications in the fields of 

  • Social cognition, intuitive thinking (e.g. essentialism)
  • Moral cognition
  • Empathy and prosocial behaviour in intergroup contexts
  • Development of religious acquisition and beliefs

Current Research Opportunities

  • Communicating Truth: Consumption and transmission of polarised information amongst young people in a divided society
  • Developing Belief Network: Cross-cultural research on the development and diversity of religious cognition, beliefs and identities

Public outreach & key achievements

I am a member of the Developing Belief Network (www.developingbelief.com), a collaborative network of over 40 international and interdisciplinary researchers investigating important questions in developmental science across 24 field sites, which will offer a wide mentorship opportunity for student researchers.
