Dr Jon McCullough

School of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering

My research has focussed on the numerical simulation of complex fluids using the lattice Boltzmann method. This has included the study of particle suspensions within the oil and gas industry, and the simulation of macroscale blood flow within human-scale models of the arteries and veins. These practical applications have been supported by efforts in algorithm development and the deployment of codes on high-performance computers for both CPU and GPU architectures including on some of the largest supercomputers in the world.
